How do you boost your immune system when sick? I always use the ten tips below at the first signs of a sore throat, a cough, or a cold. Every tip contributes to give your body what it needs to fight off any bugs. Many of you are travelling this time of the year, and regardless of winter or summer, our immune systems can take a beating from changing environments.
Last week my son came home with a sore throat and a cold, and we, as a family, all caught it. Since none of us can afford to waste time being sick, I jumped into action and implemented these 10 tips to boost your immune system so that we all only had symptoms for three days.
Keep these 10 tips close by so you can use them as your secret weapon against any infections that come your way.
How To Boost Immune System in 72 Hours
There is no need to settle for a weak immune system, you are WIRED TO BE WELL. Embrace these tips, add in powerful plant-based supplements and give your body the right tools it needs to get well and stay well!
Follow my 10 tips to fight infections...
1. Hydrate
Drink 2-3L of our Rejuv Wellness Water or Detox Water daily and drink herbal teas such as lemon & ginger or nettle tea with Manuka Honey.
2. Increase Your Prebiotics
I recommend eating organic kefir, kimchi, sauerkraut, flaxseeds and psyllium husks to increase your prebiotics. If that is too hard for you, keep our Digestive Complex Powder handy (buy it with our Immune Restore Pack or on its own).
3. Chicken Soup For Your Health
Make up a big batch of my Granny's Organic Chicken Soup and have 2 cups at least per day to bombard your body with nutrients. You can either use a slow cooker or make the soup, but either way, they help me stay on track and maintain healthy habits
4. Boost Your Immunity With A Quick Start Wellness Pack
Supercharge your Immune System with our Immune Boost or Immune Restore Pack and take a double dose of each for three days.
5. Get Naked In The Sun
Do a nudie bake and get out into the sun, preferably (butt) naked, but if it is too hot or too cold where you live, at least some direct sunlight through your windows on a major muscle group such as your legs.
6. Double Snooze Before Midnight
Get to bed early and have at least two more hours of sleep per night, preferably before midnight. One hour of sleep before midnight is worth two after midnight.
7. Blend Your Super Greens
Drink your Super Greens Daily to reduce inflammation. Choose from The Super Elixir from WelleCo. or the Rejuv Super Greens Powder.
8. Kill Off Bugs With Heat!
Embrace hyperthermia and use heat to help kill off the bugs. The body naturally uses your temperature to do this, so help the process by having a sauna.
I love the Therasage FIR sauna but if you don't own one, have a nice hot bath with epsom or magnesium flakes. Adding skin brushing is also a great support to help your lymphatic system flush out any bugs.
9. Essential Oils Fight Congestion & Help Breathing
Use essential oils like eucalyptus, lemon balm, frankincense, tea tree and Olbas oils to fight congestion and to help breathing. You can dab them on your shoulders, rub on your chest, back, feet & neck or use them in your bath. Don’t forget granny’s steam method, too and use it as an inhalant with a few drops in a glass bowl of hot water with a towel covering your head.
10. Foods With Natural Vitamin C
Eat more foods with naturally high vitamin C, like berries, mango, and kiwi. broccoli, cauliflower, papaya & kale. I also recommend eating anti-viral foods like garlic, onions, ginger, cayenne pepper, curry, chilli and turmeric.
Turmeric is a hero ingredient when it comes to fighting bugs. I recommend that you have the healing Rejuv Moon Milk and my Sunshine Turmeric Soup with Green Sauce.
You'll find an extensive overview of the Healing Benefits of Turmeric in this blog.
Keep these 10 tips close by you can use them as your secret weapon against any infections that come your way.
