Hello, I’m Mr Dirk Laubscher
Dirk Laubscher is a highly motivated and well-respected Musculoskeletal Specialist Physiotherapist who qualified in 1999 in South Africa and has been treating patients for the past 24 years. He arrived in the UK in 2001 and has since specialized in treating back, neck, and sports injuries. Dirk is passionate about seeing people healed and set free from the vicious cycle of pain and injury.
In 2004, Dirk purchased The Back Clinic on Harley Street, London, where he encountered and treated numerous challenging and severe acute and chronic back and neck injuries. In 2006, he rebranded his clinic to Rejuv Wellness after collaborating with his wife, Dr. Simone Laubscher, a Naturopath and formulator of their Rejuv Wellness Supplements and also head formulator for Welleco where she is business partner with supermodel, Elle Macpherson.
Throughout his career, Dirk has treated a diverse range of clients, including everyday individuals such as parents, school teachers, truck and bus drivers, etc, and also CEOs of major companies. His clientele also includes A-list celebrities in the likes of Helen Mirren, actors, singers, West End musical performers, professional ballet dancers, top models, and elite athletes.
In 2009, Dirk was flown to Qatar to treat members of the Royal Family, the Al-Thani Family. He has also treated members of the Royal Family of Abu Dhabi, the Al-Nyahn family, in the UAE. Former Australian cricket captain Michael Clarke was also a patient of Dirk's for many years, both before and after he became the Australian captain. His personalized MedX back rehabilitation protocol, combined with treatment at physiotherapist Steve Giueleri's practice, Beecroft Physiotherapy in Sydney, extended Clarke's professional cricket career by over 10 years, as mentioned in his autobiography.
Dirk has also been flown to Tokyo, Japan, to assist former F1 driver and Grand Prix winner Heikki Kovalainen with chronic hip and back pain during his GT500 series competitions. His role involved assessing Kovalainen's seating position in his high-performance car and understanding the impact of high G-forces on his body movements and was working with the team engineers to modify Heikki’s sitting position inside the car to reduce injury and maximize performance.
Dirk takes a very practical and functional approach to pain and injury, focusing on treating the root cause rather than just the symptoms. He does not believe in band-aid therapy, but only in restoring and improving the full function to the body and in getting his patients back doing the things they love and things they never thought they could do. Back in London, he has written articles for Men's Health, The Daily Mail, and other leading sports magazines. He has also been invited to speak at Sports & Physiotherapy Conferences in the UAE, Egypt, and India.
As a former high-performance athlete, Dirk understands the body's functions and injuries, how to prevent them and how to treat them. His expertise in manual therapy and rehabilitation allows him to achieve exceptional results in treating musculoskeletal disorders, with a particular specialization in back and neck problems.
Throughout his career, Dirk has continuously developed his skills and pursued opportunities for further education. He is currently working towards an MSc, which will lead to a PhD in Integrative Medicine and Neuroscience to better understand how our minds impact our physical body and how he can use Neuroscience to fast track the healing process and recovery that will lead to his goal of restoring and maximizing the body's full potential.
Additionally, over the span of 24 years, he has developed a highly effective and specialized MedX back and neck rehabilitation program that has helped countless individuals with chronic pain regain their lives.
