Now is the time of the year to think about a cleanse or detox as the seasons have shifted into summer (or winter in the Southern Hemisphere). Maybe you're planning a holiday and want to be able to fit into your beautiful summer wardrobe easily. Maybe you’ve escaped the heat and travelled to somewhere cooler (like me), or it's winter where you live.
Food & Drink For Detox
Regardless of where you are in the world, adding more plants and less animal protein to your diet helps you cleanse and detox. Abstaining from alcohol for 2-4 weeks, depending on your schedule is also great and why I embrace dry July.
By eating less animal protein, you give your body extra energy to clean up your detox pathways. It's my birthday in August, so cleansing in July allows me to let my hair down come birthday celebrations (life is about balance, after all).
A Time-Efficient Holiday Detox
Due to time constraints, I encourage many of my clients to choose one of our Rejuv Packs, based on their goals, to do a one- or two-week detox before their holiday and complete the final 2-3 weeks when they get back.
This allows you to look and feel amazing as you enter into your holidays.
Since you know you’ll do a cleanse post-holiday at home, you can relax. It allows you to eat, drink and be merry whilst enjoying time with friends and family. Even a 1-week detox will make you feel better if you’re rushed for time, and then you can cleanse once you get back.
3 Packs for A Mini Detox
To do a mini detox, I suggest choosing from one of these three packs:
- The Metabolism Reset Pack to reduce body fat and cellulite
- The Detox Pack to have an overall detox and cleanse to feel lean and strong in both mind and body.
- The Gut Healing Pack if your digestive system needs some love and you want to remove belly bloat.
Easy Nutritional Wellness Detox Plans
Our packs all come with a full nutritional wellness plan to support your Seven Pillars of Wellness. We’ve made each one easy and delicious so you can incorporate them into your busy life. Some of my clients also take their packs on holidays and use this time to chill and cleanse as they relax by the sea, a lake, a mountain, the countryside or a forest, away from busy everyday life. You simply complete 1-2 weeks of this protocol, depending on what your schedule allows.
The Vegan Monday Hack
I’m not vegan. After healing my thyroid many years ago, I need fish in my diet to feel strong, but I love to add more vegan recipes into my diet and reduce dairy, eggs, gluten and alcohol when I do a cleanse.
As a lifestyle hack, I encourage my clients to do 'Vegan Mondays’. Going vegan after the weekend gives your body a chance to cleanse and heal if you had a few rich foods.
Recipes For Detox
We have many recipes on our blog and with the protocols that come with each pack. You can browse all our recipes to add more variety to your diet and kick-start a cleanse.
To get you moving you could embrace intermittent fasting and choose a green juice for breakfast and a yummy soup, stir fry voodles or superfood salad for lunch or dinner.
